The Clare Children and Young People's Services Committee was established in December 2016.
Clare CYPSC is guided in its work by Better Outcomes Brighter Futures, The National Policy Framework for Children and Young People 2014 – 2020. Our work is structured around the five national outcomes for children and young people as outlined in our national framework.
The County Clare Children and Young People’s Plan will endeavour to promote the six transformational goals described within Better Outcomes Brighter Futures in order to achieve the national outcomes for children and young people. Those transformational goals are:
• Support parents
• Earlier intervention & prevention
• Listen to and involve children and young people
• Ensure quality services
• Strengthen transitions
• Promote cross-government and interagency collaboration & coordination

Clarecastle National School is situated in the fast growing village of Clarecastle, on the outskirts of Ennis, Co. Clare.
Our school traces its roots back to 1935 when the previously infant section of the old building was built and established as two schools – a boy’s and a girl’s national school.
Each school had 3 teachers, one teaching Junior Infants – 1st Class, another for 2nd – 4th and the final for 5th and 6th Classes. The current ‘new’ school building was opened in 2007. The facilities include a P.E. hall, library, computer room, resource rooms in addition to 16 classrooms. Today 355 children attend the school. There are now 17 teachers from infants up to sixth class.'

This is our Aistear Station. Aistear is the irish word for ‘Journey’ and you are just about to begin your journey in Clarecastle National School.
You will spend a lot of time ‘learning through play’ in Junior Infants. You will explore many themes and learn lots of new skills.Take at look at the link below to see our Junior Infant Class Blog and find out what happens during Aistear time!”
This is where you will hang up your coat each day. You will have your very own special hook with your name on it. Make sure your coat has your name on it too!
After hanging up your coat, you will find your seat at one of the groups.Each group has a different name—you might be a Happy Hippo, a Marvelous Monkey or even a Brilliant Bee! Please click on the link below to see our Junior Infant Presentation especially for you!
School starts at 9am and finishes at 1:45pm.This is where you will line up each morning and afternoon with all the boys and girls in your class.
Your mum, dad or guardian will bring you here and your teacher will come to meet you. When the bell rings, that means it is time to go!”
This is the door into the toilets. There are two toilets in each classroom. If you need to use the toilet, just raise your hand in the air and ask your teacher.
We have lots of toys for you to play with in Junior Infants. Every day, you will get to play—both independently and in groups—with your new friends.
We like to take an active, hands on approach in Junior Infants, so you will be very busy!”
