Our Aistear!
During the month of November we began our Aistear topic of ‘The Toy Shop’. We took it in turns during role to play in the toy shop as both customers and shop assistants.
We looked at creating the toy of our dreams and then presented our drawing to our peers.
We investigated the topic of ‘Floating and Sinking’ and created our own experiment where we predicted if items would float or sink and then recorded the end result. We loved looking and touching the ice the following day and investigating whether the items stayed at the bottom or the top of the ice.
Finally we created our own slides from recycled materials, we found items around the classroom such as crayons, cars, teddy bears and glue sticks and trialed and tested if they would roll down the slides we created.
It was a great start to Aistear in Junior Infants!
