‘Something Fishy’ Success

Congratulations to Emma and Elliot who came in second and third place in the ‘Something Fishy’ poetry competition for the Shannon River Basin District. They both wrote winning poems on ‘My Life as a Fish’ though there is no doubt that the judges had a difficult time deciding on the winners as all of the entries from the class were wonderful.

The competition was open to all students whose class signed up to the ‘Something Fishy’ project so we are very thankful to the Green Schools Committee who registered us to take part in the programme. As part of the project, Inland Fisheries Ireland work in partnership with Education Centres and visit schools to inform and educate students on fish, water, angling, and the environment and angling. Take a look at the winning poems, the photos of our most enjoyable visit from Inland Fisheries Ireland last February and at our lovely artwork which was also part of our project.

Well done Emma and Elliot! Enjoy your prizes and keep up the poetry!
