World Book Day 2024

Second, Third and Fourth Class had a lovely chat this morning with Susan Loughnane Doyle. She lives in Co. Clare and she and her husband have written and illustrated books for children. She told us all about how she draws the pictures and where they got their ideas for different books. We loved hearing the stories about how they wrote the rhymes for the book ‘Football Nursery Rhymes’. We enjoyed reading the rhymes too!
We wrote a rhyme about hurling with Susan and she started an illustration for our rhyme. We were all looking forward to seeing how the picture of a famous Clare hurler looked when she got to finish it!
