School Choir

Clarecastle school choir was established in 2010 and is made up of children from 3rd to 6th class. The children rehearse every Tuesday after school and also during lunchtimes when they are preparing for an upcoming competition or concert.  They perform every year for the Christmas concert, for the elderly in the local Daycare Centre and at various other events such as school award ceremonies, school masses and for special visitors to the school. Each year the choir undertake an additional choral experience ranging from community events, Peace Proms, fun choral workshops or local concerts in addition to competitions.

Over the last number of years they have enjoyed much success, winning first place at the Limerick Choral Festival twice, first place at AIMS Choral Festival New Ross, at Feile an tSamhraidh in Middleton, Co. Cork and in the Clare round of the Community Games before placing third in the national competition. They have also won third prize on two other occasions in New Ross and placed second in Feile an tSamhraidh in May this year.

The choir rehearse every Tuesday after school until 3:45pm and students from 3rd to 6th class are welcome.
